Charitable RV Donations
Since 2015, Breast Cancer Car Donations has been turning donated vehicles into support for breast cancer patients. While most donors give cars or trucks, we also accept RVs and campers. Many people buy RVs hoping to travel often but over time, they sit unused, collecting dust and draining money through insurance, parking or storage fees and upkeep.
That camper sitting in your driveway or storage unit could make a real difference. When you donate a camper to Breast Cancer Car Donations, we make it quick and easy. The funds from your donation go directly to help patients and families in your own community.
Skip the stress of selling. When you donate, there’s no ads, phone calls or meetups. Our team will handle everything, sell your RV and put the proceeds to work in the fight against breast cancer. You’ll support a life-saving cause and earn a tax deduction. Make a meaningful impact by donating your RV today!
How Do I Donate a Recreational Vehicle to Charity?
Thinking about downsizing? Donating your RV is a simple way to let go of an unused vehicle while helping others. Many nonprofits across the U.S. gladly accept RV donations and take care of the details for you. You won’t have to worry about how to get rid of your camper. We’ll make it easy!
RV ownership can get expensive and take up valuable space. With all the modern travel options available, towing a large RV may feel like more hassle than it’s worth. If you’re imagining what you could do with the space it takes up, it’s probably time to let it go.
If your family no longer uses the RV or it’s just taking up space, donating it can be a smart and generous move.

We accept a wide variety of camper vans, conversion vans and recreational vehicles, even those that no longer run, including Winnebago, Thor Motor Coach, Airstream, Forest River and Coachmen models. Why Should I Donate My RV?
If your RV has served its purpose, consider letting it serve a new one. Donating it can make a big difference and might be more beneficial than selling.
- When you donate a recreational vehicle, it can provide a substantial contribution to the charity of your choice. Donating it would give you a chance to help thousands of needy people in your community.
- When you donate your motorhome that’s still close to perfect shape, you are sure to gain a huge tax deduction.
- You’d most likely gain more benefits when you donate your camper rather than attempting to sell it. If you sell it, you might not get the amount you expect, especially if there is low market demand for such a vehicle.
- When you make an RV donation, you can experience a smooth and quick transaction, very much unlike when you try to sell it yourself.
- RVs can be expensive and difficult to maintain. When you donate an old camper, you would no longer have to pay for repairs, maintenance, other services and insurance.
Is Donating Difficult?
Not at all! You can call us or fill out our form in just minutes. Donating costs you nothing and we make the entire process smooth and worry-free.
We pick up your vehicle for free, provide a receipt at pickup, and mail your tax paperwork after it’s sold. You’ll clear out space, reduce your tax bill and help save lives. It’s one easy step.
How Long Does It Take to Tow My Vehicle?
Once you submit your donation form or call us, we typically schedule the tow within 24–72 hours. Our partner tow service will confirm a convenient pickup window, and there’s no charge to you.
What Should I Do After the Vehicle is Picked Up?
After the tow truck leaves, contact your insurance company to cancel coverage and notify your state’s DMV that you’ve transferred ownership. Keep the pickup receipt we provide, since it shows the exact hand-off date and time.
How Is My Tax Deduction Amount Decided?
If your vehicle sells for more than $500, you may deduct the full sale price reported on the final receipt. If it sells for $500 or less, you can generally deduct either the sale price or the fair-market value (up to $500), whichever is lower. Consult IRS Publication 4303 or your tax advisor for details.
What Tax Paperwork Will I Get?
Within 30 days of the sale, we’ll mail you a written acknowledgment (often IRS Form 1098-C) showing the vehicle’s gross sale proceeds. Save this document with your tax records; you’ll need it when itemizing your charitable deduction.
Is the Vehicle Covered by Insurance During the Donation Process?
Yes. From the moment our towing partner loads your vehicle, our insurance covers the car in transit and while it’s stored for auction. You are no longer liable for damage or accidents once the vehicle leaves your property.
