That old vehicle sitting in your driveway can do so much more than take up space. When you choose to donate it, you help support people across the state who are facing breast cancer. Your decision helps fund programs that give patients access to care, support, and treatment. One simple decision from you can help someone live longer and enjoy a higher quality of life.
What is Breast Cancer?
Breast cancer is a serious disease that begins when cells in the breast grow out of control. These abnormal cells can form a tumor and may spread to other parts of the body if left untreated. Some cases are linked to inherited gene changes, while others develop over time as part of the aging process.
Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths among women. About one in eight women in the United States will develop breast cancer during her lifetime. A woman is diagnosed with the disease every two minutes, and one woman dies from it about every 13 minutes. These numbers show why early detection, diagnosis, and treatment matter so much.
Who Will My Donation Support?
We at Breast Cancer Car Donations fully support well-known, certified 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations that focus on fighting breast cancer. Breast Cancer Car Donations runs vehicle donation programs to raise funds for these trusted charities. This allows them to focus on helping patients and families while the donation process is handled for you.
The proceeds from your donated vehicle fund early detection, diagnosis, and treatment programs, giving people in California access to the breast health assistance they need close to home.
What Types of Vehicles Can I Donate?
You can donate many types of vehicles; we sometimes take vehicles that aren’t in the best shape. Just know that not all vehicles will qualify – certain limits apply. You’ll also need a title and proof of ownership. To find out if your vehicle qualifies, call us directly or complete the online donation form.
If you have title issues, one of our title experts can guide you through the process.
Here’s a list of vehicles we’ve accepted in the past:
- Cars: sedans, vans, SUVs, trucks, motorcycles
- Boats: sailboats, motorboats, fishing boats, yachts, pontoon boats, houseboats, personal watercraft (like jet skis)
- RVs: recreational vehicles, motorhomes, campers, travel trailers, pop-up trailers, 5-wheelers
- Specialty vehicles: ATVs, snowmobiles, motorized wheelchairs, riding lawn mowers, tractors, farm equipment
- Fleet vehicles: cars, passenger vans, cargo vans, SUVs, pickups, trucks, buses
How Does the Car Donation Process Go?
If you want that old vehicle removed quickly and without any added stress, you’re in the right place. Our donation process is simple and designed with your convenience in mind. Just follow three easy steps to complete your donation and help drive positive change.
- Introduce yourself and your vehicle to us.
Fill out the online donation form or call (866) 540-5069. We’ll request your contact details and basic information about your vehicle, including the year, make, model, mileage, condition, and title status. This information will be used to determine your vehicle’s eligibility.
- Schedule fast and FREE pick-up.
If your car qualifies, a licensed towing company will pick it up at no cost to you. You choose the date, time, and location. In many cases, you don’t have to be present when the vehicle is picked up.
- Receive your tax-deductible receipt.
After your vehicle is sold at auction, you will receive a receipt by mail within 30 days. You can use this document when you itemize deductions on your federal tax return.
Beyond Donating, How Else Can I Help My Community?
If you want to do more, consider reaching out to one of the largest healthcare systems in California to ask about volunteer opportunities that support cancer patients. Kaiser Permanente, University of California Health, and CommonSpirit Health serve communities across the state. These hospitals and clinics offer volunteer roles where people like you can assist patients during appointments, support outreach programs, or help with events and education efforts. Even a few hours of your time can bring comfort and support to someone going through treatment. Contact your local facility to learn how you can get involved.
